Our objective is that the region’s most iconic and endangered species are secured and recovering in the wild.
WWF works around the world to stabilize and increase populations of WWF's priority species – and at the same time, deliver broader conservation goals as well as social equity and improved livelihoods for people.
WWF Guatemala/Mesoamerica will focus our attention on supporting marine species in a geography where we have the most experience and are best placed to make a difference – the Mesoamerican Reef (MAR). Many of our other programs, such as reducing freshwater pollution or expanding marine protected areas, contribute to species population survival. We are focusing on species like manatees, whale sharks and three species of marine turtles: Green, Hawksbeak and Loggerhead.
